Consumer voice can shape better markets
Mature review ecosystems show how customer feedback can improve transparency, competition and the way businesses understand their customers.
Grahak is a Nepal-focused platform for discovering businesses, sharing customer experiences and helping people make better informed choices.
As Nepal's consumer economy develops, people are paying more attention to service quality, transparency and how businesses treat their customers. But useful customer experiences are still often scattered across social media, private recommendations and disconnected platforms.
Grahak is being built as a place where those experiences can become more structured, useful and accessible — helping consumers make better choices while giving businesses a constructive way to listen, respond and improve.
The aim is simple: help lay a stronger foundation of trust.Grahak takes inspiration from review and trust platforms such as Trustpilot and Yelp, while being designed around the needs and realities of markets that have not been served in the same way.
Mature review ecosystems show how customer feedback can improve transparency, competition and the way businesses understand their customers.
Grahak aims to serve Nepal and, over time, other underserved South Asian markets with features that are relevant to how consumers and businesses actually operate there.
Fair, Accurate, Informative and Respectful principles guide how Grahak thinks about reviews, trust and the relationship between consumers and businesses.
Create space for genuine customer experiences without allowing payment to purchase reputation.
Encourage useful information and make the way Grahak represents businesses as clear as possible.
Turn customer experiences into context that helps people make better choices.
Keep room for criticism and accountability while expecting constructive participation.
Grahak is developed and operated by Grahak Digital Pvt. Ltd., a Nepalese company incorporated in 2026.
Grahak Digital intends to develop additional products and services that put consumers first, strengthen consumer protection and encourage greater accountability in the way businesses interact with their customers.
Future products may use technologies including AI-assisted tools where they can make consumer information more useful, identify meaningful patterns and support fairer, more transparent consumer-business relationships.
The idea for Grahak took shape while I was studying for my master's degree at Curtin University in Perth, Australia. I saw how consumer voice could play a meaningful role in improving products, services and the way businesses compete.
Nepal is gradually placing greater value on customer experience, but the infrastructure around consumer trust is still developing. I believed there was room to build something locally relevant that could organise customer experiences into a more useful form and give both consumers and businesses a better basis for trust.
That became Grahak. The ambition is not to copy a platform from another market, but to learn from what works elsewhere and build something that reflects the needs of Nepal.
As Grahak and Grahak Digital grow, that principle will remain at the centre of what we build.
